Scrap Create Play Inspire

This is another one of my double header layouts, lol. The sketch comes from a challenge at Creative Scrappers and the idea from Bobunny. The Bobunny challenge was to create a layout about something that you love about yourself or your favourite thing about yourself. Well...what do I luv about myself?? My ability to create, play, inspire and scrap! I love to create. I like to decorate, I like colours, so everything I love to do I bring to scrapbooking. I even like to sing, which again I can do while I scrap. The list goes on and on. I really do love Bobunny for challenging me to do layouts about myself and the things I love, since I so rarely scrap myself. So...these are photos of my scrap room and the place I love to scrap, create and play!

My Sunflower

This is all about my sunflower! When I had surgery, Nicole bought me a bouquet of sunflowers which are one of my favourite flowers. We were playing with the camera at the cabin and took this photo which I love (it's my screensaver lol). I wanted to do a layout using this photo and so when I found another sketch at lets capture these sketches I was pretty excited. I found some old Bo Bunny paper that I had stored in my stash and away I went. Thanks to the talented Martine who designed the sketch! The twist was to not use any cardstock, which was easy for me because I rarely use it! This layout brought me back to summer and my sunflower since today I'm looking out my window and all I see is snow, lol.
Lets Capture These Sketches #63
The journaling reads: It stands in the garden border so elegant and tall, The lovely yellow sunflower, the happiest flower of all. It loves to hold its head high, towards the heavens above, For it know that God is watching, and tending it with love. A lesson can be learned from this gracious yellow flower, It doesn't question how it grows, but trust God's wondrous powers.

The challenge at sketches in thyme this week was to use a sketch, any sketch and show your work. I love this one, so I thought I would share it with the girls there!

A day in the zoo

Everyone know I love challenges. Well I found a new challenge at Lets caputure these sketches. This is for Challenge #161 where Heather did an amazing sketch with a twist. You had to have a 'critter' on the layout. Well...I thought these zoo pics would definitely qualify as critters, lol. I did have fun with the slice, cutting out the swirls and the title. I even used my new border punch. This is what you do when it's 11:00pm and your having fun scrapbooking. And...a Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Grad Photo Shoot

I was so excited to find the cd of all of Ryan's grad photos. When they took the photos they did the traditional cap and gown poses but also some informal ones. I'm having as much fun with these as I am with Nicole's engagement photos. I found a sketch at Frosted Designs which I was excited to try. It's my first challenge with their site. I thought this Oliver line from Basic Grey worked really well with the photo. So thanks to Frosted Design for the great challenge and inspiration.

Another update! Last night I found out I won the prize pack for my layout. This is such an exciting week!

Happy Me

I have been wanting to start on a "book of me" for quite awhile now. I have been collecting things to go into the album for a few years. The word circles are old Wild Asparagus and the paper is Basic Grey. When I found this challenge at the scrap room, to scraplift something from their November gallery,  I thought what a perfect time to start! The word circles are what inspired me to scraplift Melanie Calls layout. I find it hard to do layouts of myself. I either hate the photo or can't find any, lol. I guess I just have to try harder to be in photos ( not being the one behind the camera) and just learning to love myself.

I'm so in luv with Nicole and Chris' engagments photos, I think I could use them for every layout, lol. I found a sketch at stuck on u sketches that I wanted to try. I love using Basic Grey so I picked the periphery line. I did some cutting of the different papers, made some flowers which I misted and glimmered and then added some bling to dress it up. I haven't found a paper line that their photos don't go with, lol. Thanks so much my friends for stopping by and leaving your sweet and encouraging comments!

Zoo Day Fun

So this is what I call a "double header" lol. I found the idea for the layout on scrapbookers-anonymous. It was to use holiday paper for a non-holiday layout! I thought that my halloween paper would be great to use for a photo of a tiger we saw at the zoo. Now I had to come up with a layout idea! I went to creative scrappers and used sketch #129. This was almost too much fun! It's wild...but it was fun!

Bow Falls

When I saw this sketch at Creative scrappers I knew I just had to do another fall layout. I have SO much of the origins line I think I have used it for at least 10 layouts already. But you know...I never tire of using it. Maybe because fall layouts are my favourite? lol. For those of you that know me...Fall is my favourite season. I love the colours, the weather, just the beauty of the season. This photo is of our anniversary trip to Banff. Every time we are there, I always have to go to the Bow Falls and take pictures. We met a really nice couple from England who offered to take our picture by the could I resist that? Thanks so much my scrappy friends for stopping by!

The boys are always fooling around and on Thanksgiving they were taking pictures of each other taking pictures! I was looking through my stash and found this Basic Grey "lime rickey" paper and thought "perfect" for this photo. I have a hard time working with red and Ryan wears alot of it, lol. This layout was for challenge #24 at sketches in thyme. I love that the sketch had so many circles. I admit...I went a little wild with the circles but I usually do such muted layouts and this one gave me a chance to use those bright colours. So...thanks for dropping by my friends! Have a wonderful weekend.

These photos are from our trip to Banff this fall. We had just bought a new camera for our anniversary so we spent three days driving in the mountains and playing with the camera. It's great for me because fall layouts are my favourite to do. This was the first two page spread I have done in a long time. I use to do them all the time, but then switched to doing less photos and single spreads. This was for a sketch challenge at the paper variety. Julie Bonner is such a talented artist, so it was a pleasure to work with her sketch. When I look at these photos it reminds me of fall while I'm sitting here watching the snow fall. When is spring? lol.

Just an update! I was so excited to find out my layout won the prize pack this week! My first prize ever!!! I just had to share because I'm so excited, lol.

Pigs now you all know! Not only do I have a scrapbook addiction, a mesh and tag addiction...but I also have an addiction to anything to do with "pigs". I LOVE PIGS! I have stuffed pigs, ceramic pigs, pig planters, pig pot holders, pig slippers, pig pillows...yikes I have alot of pigs. Oh...don't forget the pig calendar! Now for Christmas if Santa could bring me a pocket pig...I would be set! I got this idea for the layout from the bobunny blog. The challenge was to do a layout about yourself and you could also use the new sketch! This was just too much fun. I got to use my bobunny stash....and finally scrap my love of pigs!!!!

I just don't want this week to end! I just won the basket of goodies for my layout! This is the best week ever!!!

The Paper Variety Week 9 Challenge

I saw a challenge at the the paper variety which asked for 3 colour of mist or paint, two flowers and three different patterned papers. I had just the perfect layout. I have tons of flowers which are all glimmer misted (may be hard to see), and I'm a patterned paper lover! This layout is about Nicole and Christopher who have been together since junior high and are now getting married. These are two of their engagement photos. I just love the paper variety and have so much fun playing there!

Love Lessons Learned

I just can't get enough of working with Nicole & Chris's engagement photos. There are so many of them I'm in my glory when I see a new challenge and I know exactly which photos to use. Thank goodness they have 91! I think I will have them all scrapped sooner or later and then they will have an engagement album! This is for a challenge on the My minds eye blog. This is the first challenge I have entered there, so we will see what happens! The  theme was lessons learned so I chose "love lessons learned" to document how far they have come as a couple. The love of two junior high students to the mature love of two young adults.  I just can't wait for their wedding day.

Our Day

My daughter Nicole finally got all her engagement photos! I was so excited! They took 91 photos in all which I have on my computer ready to scrap! The photos are so beautiful and they go with every paper line, lol. I told Nicole and Chris that I can scrap for at least a month with all these. This layout is another one I did for my guest design spot for scrap-a-little. This is Helen's sketch #13. I love working with her sketches and the inspiration on her site. I'm very excited to be featured on her blog. My guest spot is December 15 so I'm busy working with the sketch she sent. Have a wonderful day everyone....blessings!

This is my beautiful little niece Renee! She is always up for a photo shoot. We have so much fun together because my "little ones" are now 18 & 22, and she is she still wants to hang out with aunty! I did this layout for my guest design spot on Helen Crofts blog scrap-a-little. This sketch was #35. I am working on a new sketch for the design spot...but I will have to keep that one a secret until December 15!

Halloween Night

I asked the kids this year if they still wanted to carve pumpkins seeing as they are 18 and 22 years old. Well...the look on their faces! Of course they wanted to carve pumpkins and they wanted to invite their friends over too. So we planned a pizza pumpkin party and away we went! Chris carved out the "apple logo", Nicole did "toad" from Mario Party, Ryan carved out a skeleton, Shelby did a "Shelby" pumpkin, Meaghan did a "little M" one and Alex stuck to the traditional smiling pumpkin. I got the sketch from My little Sketch Blook, so thank you Liz for the inspiration!

In the Patch

The weather for Thanksgiving was so warm this year that we were able to be outside to do our family photos. We took some serious ones....then the fun began. We were trying continuous shooting on our camera so every few seconds everyone had to do another "pose". We had lots of fun...and I have tons of photos! Can't wait to scrap the rest of them! I found this sketch on sketchabilities and thought it was just perfect for the photos I wanted to use! Happy fall everyone! ( P.S. The snow has melted and it's fall again lol).
